About Me
As my picture suggests, I have always loved history. I was fascinated by the Little House on the Prairie and Betsy-Tacy books as a child. I even majored briefly in history at college, before being lured away by sociology and cultural anthropology, the fields in which I eventually got my degrees.
I may have opted against history as a career, but it has remained my favorite hobby. After many years spent exploring medieval European history with the Society for Creative Anachronism, a friend introduced me to genealogy and I was hooked. Discovering my family’s history has led me down many American history rabbit holes as well as to creating this blog.
There are so many interesting people and stories in our pasts and so many specific examples of people that illustrate larger historical themes. I hope you enjoy learning about them as much as I have.
